When COVID 19 struck, almost 50% of all rental households were spending at least a third of their income on rent. The pandemic and the current rental crisis has put an estimated 30–40 million people in America at risk of eviction in the next several months.
Keeping people in their homes is our number one priority.
The ZCHC was created by the Zanesville Think Tank on Poverty. We are funded through a City of Zanesville Community Block Grant, we are working in conjunction with the Community Development Department of the city to reduce and prevent eviction to promote housing stability.
We offer free information on tenants' rights, as well as someone to work with tenants and landlords to find a way to keep people in their homes.
Our staff and volunteers are members of this community, and are committed to keeping their neighbors off the streets.
Some of the resources that the ZCHC utilizes:
Mediation Services For tenants, landlords, and people in distress.
